Sim Gnome

Sim Gnome

It is a sad day, I tell you.  You see I had to remove a link I have had on this blog for many a years. I supported the place not just with my link here but by buying my expansions and sim points through their referral links.  Quite recently, I registered for their forum to answer a few questions posted there by other simmers.  You see I had tried in the past to register there and 3 times well over a year ago it didn’t work at all.  I only got a forum error so gave up and just became a read only person there.  I still believe Carl is a fine fine lad for all he has done for the community and have nothing against him.  The forum on his website, however treated me roughly.  To be clear not the other users of that forum mistreated me but the moderator.  I have noticed before that they were pretty heavy handed over there but thought it simply that they had a thing for moving posts or closing threads for flimsy reasons.  No idea that it went beyond that at all.

In a gnome sized nutshell, I answered three questions total there by providing answers and a link to information here that was more detailed then the simple answer I gave. Only two of the replies had links and were not even posted on the same day mind you.  The moderator removed the links and sent me a private message saying I was spamming their forum? Huh?  Providing useful information over there is spamming? I didn’t even pinch one apple! I wasn’t trying to sell shoes or pointed hats, I was answering a question. Thought I was just being a helpful gnome.

Thus afraid I might lead others to the same fate I experienced there and not wanting to do that, I pulled my link to their website.  I also deleted my account there as it seems it is only safe there to read only, just wish I had learned this lesson some years ago rather than now. Their house…their rules but a gnome can teleport away if need be and so I did. I will drown my disappointment in a fresh apple pie…yeah that’s it.

Spotlight – Andrews October 11, 2013

Sunset Valley is the original Neighborhood which came with the Sims 3.  I spotlight some of the familes in the EA neighborhoods in case you might have missed out on them or just wanted to learn more about the neighbors.

Victoria & Beau Andrews

Victoria & Beau Andrews

Let’s meet the Andrews family of Sunset Valley, shall we?  Very interesting couple they are indeed!  First let’s talk about Victoria, she’s working in the journalism career (3) and dreams of making the big time as a Star News Anchor.  She’s a bookworm, good, hopeless romantic, artistic and ambitious.  The hopeless romantic trait quite certainly explains why she ended up with Beau as a husband.  He’s really a diamond in the rough but I think Victoria enjoys a good challenge.

Beau is Victoria’s unemployed husband.  He’s known for his good sense of humor yet he’s also a slob, couch potato, can’t stand art and is inappropriate.  His Lifetime Wish is to be a Gold Digger which does explain his relationship with his wife from his point of view, doesn’t it?

Together the Andrews have a 1 bedroom 1 & 1/2 bath home in a not too shabby part of Sunset Valley.  The second floor could be easily added on to should you want to add more space to this home.  The yard is quite small yet still room for a patio and perhaps a small garden.  They live right next door to the Clavell’s which are an interesting family for yet another post.

Now you are probably wondering what ideas an opinionated gnome has for the Andrews?  Weeell……I noticed there is no tv in the house, could it be Victoria sold it in an attempt to get Beau to do something other than park himself on the sofa?  That could explain his feeble attempt at fishing as something to do while the wife is at work?  If you choose to replace the tv then good luck getting Beau off the couch again.

You could help push Beau to at least get a part time job or something to occupy his time.  He would make a good house husband with some prodding, don’t you think?  He’s not bad with children or animals.  More time gardening, fishing or maybe some cooking classes would be useful.  You could move some of the living space upstairs and Beau could run a Daycare downstairs during the day?  He could learn to write or invent, painting is out of the question though.  Some skill with a musical instrument and perhaps he could play for tips in the local park when he feels like it? Quite a few options for Beau while Victoria climbs the ladder in journalism.

Sim Gnome

I’m back after an exceedingly long wait to be fished up again.  *chuckles in an uniquely gnomish fashion*  I have removed the paintings I used to have on this site as I have learned they need to be updated after the addition of expansions to be safe again for use.  They will be back again once that is done.  Till then read my latest article below and I have some other things in the works!

Halloween Comes Early

Halloween Comes Early

The toddler is laughing because her Daddy went to work dressed in a black and white striped shirt and wearing a mask then comes home dressed like a ninja.  Funny Daddy!  (Her father is in the Criminal career and is quite sucessful at his business.  Nothing to see here…move along….move along. That is why he works nights.)
